Our Skincare Philosophy
Our skincare philosophy at TVC Aesthetic Solutions is Simple, Effective, and Affordable.
1 – CLEANSE
First Cleanse; to clean off dead skin cells, product, make-up, and barrier oils. We have a wide range of cleansers from foaming deep cleansers to milky gentle cleansers and depending on the skin type, your consultant will pick the one best for you.
2 – CORRECT
Second Correct; thanks to the emerging cosmeceutical technologies there are many corrective creams and serums. We offer a variety of Retinol products as well as corrective serums for aging, pigment, acne and the sensitive eye, lip and neck areas. Vitamin A, E, C and a multitude of new peptides and growth factors are changing the aging face and turning back the clock.
3 – HYDRATE
Third Hydrate; it is so important to have hydrated skin. Many times oily skin can even be dry skin that is over producing oil due to the dryness of maturing skin. We have balancing moisturizers as well as increased hydration to combat the mature photo damaged skin or the post procedure dryness from peels and procedures.
4 – PROTECT
Fourth Protect; since many of the aging skin damage we see has been caused by UVA/UVB rays, it is important to have a sunscreen that will do the job and prevent more damage or why spend any time or money with anti-aging products and procedures. We offer the wide spectrum mineral sunscreens with a blend of zinc and titanium. No longer leaving your skin white or changing the need for a different foundation.
We suggest beginning with the 5 foundational products: cleanser, Vitamin C in the morning, Retinol (Vitamin A) at night, hydrator, and a professional grade sunscreen to start your healthy skin regimen. From there we have many other correctives to add and can be viewed in depth below.
Correctives in Detail
We have many serums to add to your daily regime that will address the following problems.
- Aging Skin
- Acne prone
- Fine lines and Wrinkles
Retinoids should be started as soon as possible for the adult patient. It promotes even skin tone and clear complexion working on wrinkles, as well as acne. Our Vitamin A products also use many antioxidants, resorcinol, sodium hyaluronate, vitamins and enzymes for hydration, defense, and added skin tone benefits.
We recommend a Vitamin C formulation is protected from light, not open to air, and combined with Vitamin E for transportation into the deeper layers of the skin. We have pure 15% and 20% with 5% Vitamin E through a unique delivery system. Many patients see results from these two powerful Vitamins in only 1 week. The only bioavailable form of Vitamin C is L-ascorbic acid and is the only one used for the maximum efficacy. The Vitamin E is tocopherol and the highest amount on the market available. These two combined will give the greatest protection from free radicals, added protection from UVB damage, hyper pigmentation. This is essential for collagen production and can have an anti-inflammatory effect which is an excellent treatment for acne prone skin and rosacea. The level of Vitamin C attained in the skin is 20-40x higher when taken topically than orally.
The serums contain peptides such as Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) blocking the proteins in muscles to provide a milder, natural contraction of the muscles minimizing deep rhytides of the forehead.
The hydroquinone (HQ) and non-hydroquinone serums for hyperpigmentation include Kojic acid, Azelaic acid, citric acid, lactic acid, and Resorcinol. This is important to offer many ways to destroy and prevent pigment since Hydroquinone can only be used on a 3-month regimen. HQ turns off the skin’s natural ability to protect against sun damage and must always be worn with a sunscreen. During the rest of the year patients can benefit from the other pigment treatments of acids and antioxidants.
Another favorite peptide is Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 which stimulates collagen I, III, IV, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid, and laminin 5. This is the next generation peptide. It firms, tightens and strengthens aging skin. It is paired with an Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) that biomimics human and plant stem cells. EGF helps proliferate healthy cells stimulating epidermal and dermal regeneration accelerating wound healing.
Other serums utilizing salicylic acid, tocopherols(Vit-E), Ergothioneine(antioxidant), Reservatrol (powerful antioxidant), Vitamin B-5, niacinamide (Vit-B-3), aloe vera, bisabolol, Aldavine(red algae), and capparenols (caper buds) are also available.
Corrective Chemical Peels
We offer a wide variety of Peels for many different problems on the face, neck, and décolleté as well as the body. Every peel is custom designed and builds with complexity as the patient and clinician goals are addressed. The acids listed below can be used by themselves or in conjunction in order to address multiple problems within one peel session and we offer peels that will penetrate different skin depths depending on your particular need.
A TCA peel with lactic, azelaic, and kojic acids will improve surface texture, brighten and even skin tone.
To combat pigmentation we offer Hydroquinone and Hydroquinone-Free peels utilizing lactic, salicylic, citric and kojic acid.
For wrinkles we use a lactic acid/TCA peel that is specially formulated to treat aging skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while promoting even skin tone and a clearer complexion.
We also offer a deeper, stronger peel of TCA, lactic acid treating weak capillaries, laxity and wrinkling as well as a 6% Retinol peel for pigmented, photo damaged mature skin.
After my first visit, I was not excited. I thought my ankles and legs looked worse; I was discouraged. Well, by the end of my second visit – WOW! I was taking a bath and about to shave my legs and no more blue ankles. I was so excited I wanted to jump out of the tub! This is my third visit and I can’t wait to see my ankles and legs at the end of my fifth. Now, I am ready for summer and shorts. I am so very please! This I do recommend. – R.S., age 72, March 2015
